Silverton Splitfest 2020
In response to concerns about COVID-19 and community spread, San Juan County has issued a public health order prohibiting all events larger than 30 people until April 30, 2020. As a result, this year's Silverton Splitfest will be cancelled. We are of course disappointed, but understand the importance of these precautionary measures in keeping both our community members and visitors to Silverton safe. All registrations for Silverton Splitfest 2020 will be refunded in full. Please allow up to 2 weeks for a credit to appear in your account. We look forward to hosting Silverton Splitfest again in 2021. Until then, stay healthy!

Bring Your Own Board
Bring your own full splitboard setup. Demos are free, but limited and typically only available for one day, as reps are trying to give as many people a chance to try their gear as possible. Rentals are available from Silverton Avalanche School, so be sure to contact them to reserve whatever you need if you don't have your own setup.
There are tons of opportunities for primitive winter camping on USFS and BLM lands around Silverton - as the event gets closer and we know which roads are plowed and accessible we will share more information.
Pint Glasses & Best Stein Contest
This year we are asking all participants to drink from reusable containers rather than single use plastic cups. Bring your favorite beer stein for a chance to win the BEST STEIN CONTEST. All registrants will also receive a commemorative Splitfest pint glass to help with this effort.
In keeping with the spirit of the event, we are asking participants to leave the snowmobiles at home and stay true to the human powered roots of splitboarding. The terrain here is easily accessed without them, and there is a certain sense of camaraderie that only develops with shared time in the skin track. Please respect this and come to Splitfest prepared to earn your turns!
Silverton Splitfest is not a guided event and attendees will be responsible for their own safety and decisions throughout the event. Attendees are responsible for providing their own backcountry gear including beacon, shovel and probe.
Registration for this event closes April 1st (no foolin'). Logistics information and a detailed itinerary will be emailed as the event date gets closer. Please note that your registration is not refundable, however it is transferable. If you are unable to attend you may sell your spot to another attendee. The original purchaser must email firstname.lastname@example.org to transfer registration into someone else's name.
All proceeds from this event benefit Silverton Avalanche School and Colorado Avalanche Information Center.
* Both gluten free and vegetarian meal options are available. For those with Celiac disease or other serious gluten allergies, please note that the caterer's kitchen is NOT gluten free and cross contamination of ingredients may occur.
