Ben Daniel
Occupation: Outdoor Adventure Guide and more. I never would have imagined when I was a kid that I could make a living playing with people outdoors, doing what I love in my free time for "work" too!
Home Town: Big Sky, MT
Home Mountain: Big Sky Resort
Snowboarding Since: I've been riding since I stood up in my plastic sleds as a kid, then making snowboards out of skate decks and finally getting the Burton Performer and surfing pow with friends.
Riding Venture Since: First rode Venture in 2007, new to the team 2017
Board of Choice: Zelix
Bio: I'm a lover of snow and dirt, being outside, following my bliss, spending time with loved ones, traveling, learning, teaching, listening to music and sharing stoke with others!
Best Snowboarding Memory: My first day riding a legit snowboard...well legit for the time. A buddy and I skipped school after a huge dump to ride his board with no metal edges and three skags in back, basically a surfboard for the snow. We hiked a sledding hill in Wisconsin with a fence buried under the deep snow that became a mini spine down the entire slope. I strapped in my cheesy Kmart snowboots, aimed for what looked like a mellow natural quarterpipe, slashed a toeside turn then popped a little frontside air and kept doing that down the length of the hill. I was so freaking stoked and needed more. We hiked all day to ride the mini spine and surf untracked pow. To this day one of my favorite things to do is hike with friends for backcountry snowboard adventures.
Why Venture: When Venture first came to demo their boards at Moonlight Basin I was impressed by the designs, how bomb proof they were and with their environmental ethics. Stoked to help spread the word about Venture!
Quote: Peace, love and powder to the people (but no people in MY powder)!!
